    1) ano znam, 2.5" SAS disky skutecne maji cca 130MS/s
    2)predevsim graficke karty potrebuji prenosove pasmo, benchmarky srovnavajici PCI-E 1x,4x,8x a 16x to jasne dokazuji, jeden takovy je napr. na tomshardware.
    3) porad lepsi 20-20MBps z Gb nez 8-9MB ze 100Mb. Mimochodem, ta relativne mala rychlost Gb neni omezena HW, jak si myslis, ale SW, staci postelovat TCP/IP (nejlepe na linuxu) a na slusnejsi sitovne neni problem dosahnout rychlosti cca 600-900Mbps.

    Fakt ? Ty znas nejaky HDD, ktery by byl schopen prenaset 130MB/s ? Ty si vazne myslis, ze graficky karty potrebuji prenosovy pasmo ? A proc jde tedy FPS vyrazne dolu jakmile se neco nevejde do pameti na VGA ? Je uplne jedno v jakem slotu je. Jsou to vsechno jen marketingovy zvasty (stejne jako treba Gbit sitovky integrovany na MB, ze kterych dostanes tak 20-30MB).

    A web-site has published photos of what it claims to be a next-generation Ageia PhysX physics processing add-in-card. The board seems to be rather huge, while the revamped physics processing unit (PPU) also seems to be large, which implies that the new board will be rather powerful.


    The new Ageia PhysX card is designed for PCI Express x8/x16 slots and is much longer compared to the first incarnation of physics accelerator for personal computers and also has much more complex print-circuit board design. The new board also has external power connector, which indicates that the card has pretty high power consumption. Besides, the new Agiea PhysX sports an interface akin to that used by graphics cards that feature ATI CrossFire or Nvidia SLI multi-GPU technology.

    Ageia is acquired
    An industry source has confirmed that Ageia has been acquired. We don’t know who got the company but we can confirm that it is not AMD.

    We suspect Intel or Nvidia but we still don’t know, maybe is a third player after all.

    Nvidia offers PhysX support to AMD / ATI
    Nvidia will offer up support for Physx to AMD. I would suggest we standardize physics and that they accept for the good of the gaming industry. As it stands physics in games is lagging sound and 3D graphics by a large margin.

    Nvidia is currently working on implementing PhysX into its CUDA language, which is supported by all GeForce 8-series GPUs. When this is ready to go, Alibrandi said that owners of these GPUs will ‘simply need to download the CUDA PhysX drivers from Nvidia,’ and that ‘hardware acceleration will then be transparently supported for applications making use of the PhysX SDK.’ Nvidia plans to support PhysX in a number of ways, and Alibrandi says that these ‘could include both single and SLI based options.’ He also confirmed that Nvidia’s relationship with Havok is now over, saying that ‘we are 100 per cent focused on enabling CUDA-based GPUs to accelerate PhysX processing.’
