Velice pochybuji, ze NV jde o CPU divizi samotnou. Oni uz delsi dobu pasou pouze po x86 licenci. Nerikam, ze vyhod akvizice spol. VIA by nevyuzili, ale licence samotna by jim bohate stacila. Kdyby byla AMD licence prenositelna, tak uz mozna ani zadne AMD neni.

Pokud jde o CPU/GPU tak NV uz jedno reseni ma. A hodne bych se divil, kdyby navrh "x86" CPU/GPU nemeli uz delsi dobu hotovy nebo se na nem aspon uz pekne dlouho nepracovalo. Kdyby cekali na licenci a pak teprve zacali na necem pracovat, tak moc sanci asi mit nebudou.

Ty mě nechápeš. Pokud vím, má nVidia dva CPU inženýry. Jsou to Stuart F. Oberman a Erik Lindholm. Čtyři roky pracovali na SPA G80. Těžko tito dva inženýři mohou zároveň updatovat současnou architekturu, pracovat na novém grafickém čipu a ještě novém CPU.

To je presne ono. Pokud ty vis, tak maji jen dva. Coz muze byt na mile vzdaleno skutecnosti. NV uz s G80 ukazala, ze je schopna vytrvale tvrdit jednu vec a delat druhou. A dokud nebudou sami chtit, tak se to nedozvi vubec nikdo.

Věřím, že tě slovíčkaření baví, ale nVidii to vývojáře nepřinese. Pokud si myslíš, že je možné v tichosti získat nějaké zkušené CPU inženýry, vyvracet ti to nebudu, nemá to smysl.

A že jich nVidia rozhodně nemá na rozdávání, potvrzuje i zájem o CPU divizi VIA.

Lindholmův či Obermanův odchod z AMD byly veřejně známé, stejně jako informace, že skončili u nVidie. Taktéž oni dva byli podepsáni pod všemi (veřejnými) patenty desítky měsíců předtím, než G80 vyšla (viz patenty z let 2003/2004), kolem poloviny roku 2005 vystupovali na veřejných prezentacích (třeba tento slajd ze září 2005; starší verze prezentace bez obrázků pochází už z dubna téhož roku). Problém byl pouze v tom, že se očekávalo, že nástupce G7x nebude unifikovaný a unifikaci nVidia uvede až u dalšího čipu, takže tyto slajdy byly vědomě přehlíženy. Dneska už je ale dost lidí, kteří všechny možné prezentace a patenty pozorně sledují, takže pochybuju, že by patenty týkající se projektu takového formátu unikly pozornosti.

To neni zadne slovickareni. Ty tvrdis, ze vis o tom, ze maji dva, coz neznamena, ze jich nemuzou mit vic. Nic vic jsem tim rict nechtel.

NV ma v soucasne dobe sice hodne penez, ale ani oni si nemuzou dovolit vyhodit stovky milionu oknem a doufat, ze s nakupem VIA dostanou i schopne lidi, kteri uz si snad s tim CPU/GPU nejak poradi.

Mimochodem zkuseny inzenyr != patent na rozum. Nebo novy tym se zkusenym vedenim neni snad schopen prijit s necim dobrym?

A nakonec. Ona VIA neni jedina posledni moznost nebo ne?

Geforce 9800 GTX in EU for €276.50

Nvidia's 9800 GTX was listed at Geizhals.at, at least for a short time. We managed to get a screenshot of the price but the actual listing was pulled off.

In the meantime we did manage to pull out the specs and the price, and this €276,50 card will work at 675MHz core speed, 1100MHz memory and 1688MHz Shaders clock.

As mentioned, Geforce 9800GTX will have 512MB of GDDR3 memory working at 1100MHz with 256-bit memory interface. It supports 3-way SLI, DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0. According to the latest info, this card has been pushed from the original launch date, 25th of March to the first day of April.

Nvidia GeForce 9800 GX2 drops in 10% price

In less than a week since launch, Nvidia's GeForce 9800 GX2 has already dropped in price by almost 10 percent at some of the UK's top online retailers.

On launch day, the GeForce 9800 GX2 was sitting around the £435 (inc. VAT) mark and today, a few partner cards are sitting below the £400 mark.

According to our sources, GT200’s final product name and launch day have been set. Two NVIDIA GeForce card will use the core, they are 9900GX2 and 9900GTX.

It is similar to today’s NV tactic: 9900GX2 just like todays 9800GX2, it is a two GPU product, and 9900GTX is a conventional single GPU product. Source mentions that both cards will be announce in July. In previous rumors, words have it that NV will improve G9X core by rolling out GT200. But detailed information still unknown.

Ja jsem si toho taky vsiml, hlavne frekvence GPU ma byt 650MHz a na tom grafu co sem postoval je 550 - cili bud ten test probehl na 550 nebo je tam chyba.

NVIDIA renames ForceWare drivers

NVIDIA is going to rename its drivers again.

Four years ago the firm renamed its driver releases from "Detonator" to "ForceWare" and now they decided to change the name to "GeForce".

When you visit their driver download page you'll see the ForceWare moniker is gone, the driver is now called "GeForce Release 174".

9600GT drops in price

When the Geforce 9600GT launched the biggest problem we had with it was the price. The original €150+ price was simply too high as for additional 20 to €30 you could get yourself much faster 8800GT based card.

The cheapest 9600GT currently sells for €116 and at this price, it really makes sense to buy someone’s Geforce 9600GT based card. The average price for non overclocked card is around €130 and even more for an overclocked card.

The 8800GT currently costs €180 or more if you want an overclocked product and the difference of €50+ makes much more breathing space for mainstream 9600GT.

GT200-300 is taped out

Looks that GT200 is also going to be ready for late Q2 launch. We only have some limited data but the chip that we call GT200 is taped out and the prototypes of the card are already up and running.

The device is known as Nvidia GT200-300 and this naming scheme might implicate that this is something that we've seen listed as D10U-30.

We can only speculate is this a 55 or 65nm or if this card has one or two chips but we can confirm that this configuration has 1024MB of memory.

NVIDIA confirms GT-200 with 1 billion transistors

Jeff Brown stated openly and without asking to have been that the next architecture actually "GT-200". The GPU will consist of approximately one billion transistors, and it was "pure logic, no memory as CPUs," said Nvidia Manager. This enormous effort circuit coincides with previous rumors, according to which the GT-200 about 200 shader units. Previous G80 and G92 GPUs bring a maximum of 128 of the computing engines.

NVIDIA GPU physics engine up and running, almost

Santa Clara (CA) - Nvidia told analysts that that the conversion of Ageia's physics application interface to CUDA is almost complete. To demonstrate the technology's horsepower, Nvidia ran a particle demo similar to what have been showcased by Intel on Nehalem - at more than 10 times the speed.

We can't really recall how long and how often true physics capability has been promised by various parties over the past three, four years. But there are more signs that stunning physics visualization in fact is becoming a reality and it appears that Nvidia is taking the lead for now. With Ageia on board, the company has a key technology and Manju Hegde, co-founder and former CEO of Ageia, confirmed that the port of Ageia’s technology to Nvidia's CUDA is almost done.

Nvidia Readies Major Product Launch of Tegra.

Nvidia recently applied for “Tegra” trademark with the U.S. patent and trademark office, but did not disclose any details about the product. However, there are various signs which indicate that Tegra will be a major product for Nvidia, the company which is not known for registering multitude of trademarks that are not eventually used.

The description of Nvidia Tegra at the U.S. patent and trademark office is short “G & S: Integrated circuits” and does not provide any details about the forthcoming product. It is not clear whether Tegra is Nvidia’s and Via Technologies’ mobile computing platform, a new specialized platform like Tesla, a new name on the market of discrete graphics processing units (GPUs) or a completely new multimedia chip from the graphics giant.

Podla tej newsky ma G200 byt monoliticky DX10.1 cip s 1,3G tranzistormi, ma mat 240 stream procesorov, 120 texturovacich jednotiek, 32 rasterizačních (render back-end) jednotiek a 512bitovou zbernicu pre pamet. Takty cca 600-650 MHz, shadery okolo 1500 MHz a 2,2 GHz pre pamete (stale GDDR3).

To su celkom slusne parametre s dobrym vyhladom aj pre mainstream segment.

GT200 taped out 1.5 months ago

According to Dailytech GT200 taped out early March. This term means that the GPU-designing part would be pretty much over and they would start to make these chips. They also said that they have had ready GT200-GPUs ready for few weeks [testing + PCB design].

This would mean that Nvidia would be ahead of schedule with GT200; their original roadmap said that GT200 would be launched "Fall 2008", but now it looks more like "Summer 2008". They also said that they would present this next gen at Computex [June 3.]

They also said that Nvidia would start to phase out 9800 GTX and GX2 as early as next month..to make room for GT200.

More 55nm GeForce 9800 GT Info

Earlier, we revealed that Nvidia is planning to release GeForce 9800 GT based on 55nm G92 core in July and now we learned a little more details on this new card. The new 9800GT card is codenamed G92-280 and it is using a new P393-C00 PCB that supports Hybrid Power. There will be 256MB and 512MB GDDR3 versions that clocked at 900MHz and 975MHz respectively. The core clock has not been determined yet but it should clock higher than the current GeForce 8800 GT which is at 600MHz default. Outputs are 2 x DVI-I and HDTV.

GeForce 9900 GTX & GTS Slated For July Launch

The first 2 models from the GeForce 9900 series will be 9900 GTX and 9900 GTS instead of 9900 GT we reported earlier. It seems Nvidia has decided to launch them as early as July to counter RV770 and steal the performance crown away. Nvidia has earlier confirmed GT200 existence and revealed that the GPU has about 1B transistors. Our sources are suggesting a 512-bit memory interface with GDDR3 memories for GeForce 9900 GTX using P651 PCB and a 448-bit memory interface for the GeForce 9900 GTS.
