The SAPPHIRE HD 3850 AGP is available with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, running at 846MHz (1.7GHz effective) and has a core clock speed of 700MHz. It is a standard ATX format card, compatible with the industry standard AGP interface and with its slim fan assisted cooler the card occupies only a single expansion slot in the PC.
The SAPPHIRE HD 3850 AGP shares the 320 stream processors and 512-bit internal ring bus memory controller of the latest PCI-Express models together with multiple rendering units and a programmable tessellation unit. This new product’s unified shader architecture with support for Shader Model 4.0 and the forthcoming DirectX 10.1 combine to deliver the most outstanding graphics performance ever available to AGP users.
Now manufactured in a new 55nm process technology, the GPU in the HD 3000 series delivers high performance with lower power consumption than previous generations. A new feature known as ATI PowerPlay actively reduces power consumption depending on loading. Ja budu resit asi stejnou otazku, az se tyhle karty objevi. Ale urcite si pockam na zkusennosti jinych, testy atd. Moje 14dni stara X1950Pro me prijemne prekvapila tim, ze zvlada naprosto vsechny hry bez problemu, tak me nic nenuti ji menit.
Podle mě se to vyplatí, pokud člověk má K8 s AGP taktlou tak někam aspoň na 2,6ghz. Co se týče K7 nebo Netburstů, tak tam bych to už nedával, pro ty je i 1950pro dost neuživitelná karta.

Mě Power Color moc jako značka nevoní, spíš mám zálkusk na 3850 APG od Sapphire, řek bych že to asi bude fakt poslední karta do AGP

Tak jsem různě něco přečetl a podle všeho se to vyplatí - hlavně u mě je to o tom, že nehraju moc žádné střílečky, já tak Hellgate London, strategie ap.X1950 Pro je výborná karta , ale rád bych stále provozoval rozlišení 1600x1200 (Samsung 204B) a to chvílema jaksi už nestíhá - i když si vyloženě nestěžuji, ale někdy padá FPS hooodně dolů. HD 3850 by mohla být opravdu ta "poslední" karta v AGP v mém PC.(o X 1950 Pro jsem si to taky myslel).Takže si myslím, že do ní určitě půjdu !

Ja mam podobnu kombinaciu HW + Omega Drivers 4.8.442 (Catalyst 7.12) Direct3D akceleracia funguje v pohode... jedine co nefunguje je akceleracia HD videa. a myslim, ze maju s tym problemy aj ine AGP karty okrem X1950Pro (HD2600). Hadam vydaju Catalysty kde to bude konecne opravene. Pre Radeon 3850 do AGP by to bol nepekny handicap...
Myslim, ze AGP zbernica a jej prenosova sirka pasma je na akceleraciu full HD videa dost slaba.

...mne sa zda cela akceleracia videa cez gpu zbytocna, teda niezeby to bola zla myslienka ale co mam skusenosti tak to bud nefunguje alebo ked tak len za urcitych podmienok
mam v systeme pomerne starsie cpu (a64 3200+, momentalne nepretaktovane) a nemam problem prehrat ci uz 720p alebo 1080p a je mi uplne jedno ci to dekoduje cpu ale gpu
davnejsie som mal athlon xp 1700+ pretaktovany na 2.2 GHz a nejake ukazky WMV 1080p z microsoft webu slapali ok
hmmm... vzhladom na to, ze prenosova rychlost AGP portu je 2133 MB/s tak by to malo byt viac nez postacujuce. ale podla tej recenzie je na tom PCIE a HW akceleracia videa o dost lepsie, vid posledna veta:

The interesting thing is that the CPU usage was a lot higher when the AGP card was being used. It looks like the AGP bus was finally pushed to it's limit and the CPU was performing additional cycles for the same end result.
tak to ja mam zostavu v podpise a pri prehravani videa 1080p kodovaneho v H.264 mam zataz procesora na 100%, takze pomoc GPU pri dekodovani mi pride ako celkom dobra vec. wmv a podobne srandy prehram aj na 10 rocnom pentiu. skusal som toto video

pisal som si so sapphire najprv o pasivne chladenej 3850 (ako som pisal vyssie) a teda na odpoved, ze bude som sa opytal ci uz vobec je aspon aktivne chladena kedze ju nemozem zohnat tak mi odpisali, ze ani ta este nie je, ze mam skusit neskor
stanley: problém není ve sběrnici, ale v softwaru (tím nemyslím jen ovladače VGA, ale i ovladače pro čipset, DirectX a někdy i samotné přehrávače)

V tej recenzii co som daval link, system setup bol uplne ten isty pre obe karty:
