Vim, vim, je to sice hezke pro nasi komunitu, ze se takto ATi rozhoupala a tk to ma byt, ale je to trosku pzde a HLAVNE je to proto, ze proste nebyly v ATi schopni udelat poradny linux ovladace za ty leta .... v tom jim taky nVidia utekla .... A teke hlavne nevim, zda je nase mala desktopova linuxova klientela nejak spasi ...

HD 3800 has serious supply constraints

An add-in board partner has come on the record and said that "Despite what you have read and observed in the media, there are serious supply constraints [of the whole HD 3800 series]."

As we believe that these brave people can get in trouble with AMD's sale machine we will keep their name for ourselves, but this certainly implies that AMD still has an issue to ship enough of the cards to feed the hungry market.

The same source continues woth some strong words. "The shortage is so severe that we are unable to supply our channel and other vendors at this time."

Here goes the bubble that the HD 3870 is widely available while the 8800 GT is in severe short supply and it looks like you might have trouble to buy any of these two cards in 2007. DAAMIT, it had to happen at the time where 20+ hot games are out where I can personally recommend at least five of them, which all could do with a graphics card upgrade for a smooth frame rate.

Massive demand

We learned that DAAMIT has sold as much as 125.000 chips in the last three weeks since it launched but the market still wants and urges for more.

A few AMD chaps said that the plans is to ship as many as 500K chips until the end of the year and this is an impressive number but it looks like ATI and Nvidia will sell everything as people do need to by new cards to play Crysis or World in Conflict or any other new game.

Many cool games are out and not enough cool new graphics cards are available, that's why we hope that ATI and Nvidia will shape up and have more of them available.

R700 bude až začátkem roku 2009, do konce roku 2008 bude AMD stavět na architektuře HD3xxx:



Už před pár dýny se objevily informace, že původní R700 byla zrušena a v současnosti připravovaná verze se od té původní má výrazně lišit. Změny tedy znamenají 8 měsíční odklad.

Mno...tohle nevesti nic dobreho a tak jsem jim fandil. Mohli by si zmenit slogan na AMD "Postponed choice".
