Not exactly. To be more precise, it handles DirectDraw and Z-ROP rendering via 16MB of 55nm NEC EDRAM. If you do a few quick calcs, you'll conclude that 55nm is only 37% the size of 90nm. Considering that chip's size and the fact Xenos' 10MiB on 90nm is only about 100mm2, I'm sure you can draw your own conclusions
But of course, the unlimited evilness of the ultimate tool of mischief, the universal explanation for sucky performance from anything other than nVidia, TWIMTBP, strikes again.
