Vista gaming will be 10 to 15 per cent slower than XP

It is because you have to load the 3D desktop all the time. It is ironic, as the same company tells the developers that the same API can do certain things up to four times faster.

Není tedy jediný důvod, proč se Windows Vista bát, neexistuje žádný faktor, který by degradoval výkon ve 3D na Windows Vista. Odpůrci tohoto systému tak mají o argument méně. Nesmím však zapomenout na problémy s Doom 3. Špatně poskládaný obraz se nedá tolerovat, ale to je věc, která se může změnit (v plné verzi hry nebo v dalším buildu Windows, těžko říci, kde je chyba). Dobré je také říci, že instalace oficiálních ovladačů ATi se vyplatí, a to i přes to, že rozdíly nejsou nikterak závratné.

RC1 ma rozhodne daleko k finalni verzi co se tyce narocnosti GUI, takze ten test je dost irelevantni.
Pokud si bezny BFU poridi dost silnou grafickou kartu na hrani, tak se mu automaticky aktivuje Aero Glass, ktere RC1 snad ani neobsahuje a to je jeste narocnejsi, coz samozrejme v dusledku povede k jeste nizsim FPS.

Preco by nemohla Vista deaktivovat Aero a dalsi efekty pote co by user spustil nejakou full screen hru? Nebo je snad Vista tak osekany system, ze nedokaze ani toto detekovat?

Budes cekat, az se nahraje 3D GUI....to same by se samozrejme delo pri vypinani her nebo cehokoliv jineho co potrebuje ve full screenu akceleraci.
Dalsi veci je, ze nekteri lide hraji v okne. Jak bys chtel resit tenhle pripad?

Kdyz alt-tabnu tak tam bude posledni stav obrazovky pred fullscreenem a potom se jen resume vlakno s vykreslovanim? (nevim jak presne to maj visty ale nejak podobne by to snad mohlo jit) Mno o hrani v okne jsem nemluvil, to je pak jasne ze to bude mit nizsi FPS.
Jen jsem chtel rict ze za normalnich situaci by se snad mohlo to Aero uspat, nebo hodne utlumit, a vykon by mohl byt obdobny jako v xpckach...
