But of course, the unlimited evilness of the ultimate tool of mischief, the universal explanation for sucky performance from anything other than nVidia, TWIMTBP, strikes again. The shenanigans know no bounds....luckily, in this sea of pain and anguish, the shining beacon of light and righteousness, ATi, stand, with their Get in the Game program that they managed so badly(because they`re not evil like nV, see, so they couldn`t actually have a program where they worked really close with devs, pushing their tech into their stuff) that no game is part of it. - Morgoth the Dark Enemy
TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress video encoder supports Nvidia CUDA 2.0
PegasysPegasys Inc. announced at the NVISION® 2008 visual computing conference, being held August 25th to 27th in San José California, that it will use NVIDIA® CUDA™ technology to offload much of the processing required for TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress from the CPU to the graphics processing unit (GPU). A beta version of the software shows up to 446% performance increase over the CPU-only version.
Nvidia already has an x86 processor
FudzillaIt seems like the rumors weren't all wrong, Nvidia does, in fact, already have an x86 processor and it's listed on their Website. It's called the M6117C and it seems to have been part of the package when Nvidia bought ULi.
However, we doubt that any of the x86 processor manufacturers will feel any kind of threat when it comes to the M6117C ,as it's a 386SX based core which is available from 25 to 40MHz. This is a single chip solution for embedded computing and the 386 core is paired up with the ULi M1217B chipset in a single package.
We're not sure if this means that Nvidia has some kind of x86 license, or if this is just something that is a leftover from when ULi was a chipset manufacturer and had a demand for a low-cost embedded solution and it just got transferred into Nvidia's product range.
NVIDIA GT200b with 1080 Gflops?
VR-Zonet the Nvision Nvidia speaks about the future of upcomming graphic cards. For this they prepare a table with "Geforce GTX 200"-specs and at the line Floating Point Performance doesn't stand 933 Gflops, but 1080 Gflops.
So it is probably that is the spec of the upcomming GT200b-Chip, who shall launch at Nvision. The clock frequency is at 600 MHz. The shader frequecy is at 1500 MHz. If you calculate 1500/600, you will get 2.5, the new shaderratio, which already in the rumors was called.

Nvidia has a QPI license
bit-techFollowing a discussion with Tom Petersen, Director of Technical Marketing for Nvidia’s chipset business, it became apparent that Nvidia does indeed have a QPI license to make chipsets for Intel’s Bloomfield processors.
Petersen was adamant that Nvidia’s cross-licensing agreement with Intel includes a Quick Path Interface licence, enabling the company to develop chipsets for Intel’s latest processors.

Nvidia’s new card is a faster GTX 260
FudzillaWe've found out that Nvidia is preparing a new GTX 260, still 65nm, with more Shaders and the cards are about to sample any day now.
You can bet that they will have more than 192 stream processors and yet again less than 240. Overall this card will end up faster than Radeon 4870 and it will be a bit more expensive than the current Geforce GTX 260.

ELSA hints NVIDIA’s next step is 45nm(40nm?) GT212
ExpreviewSo,according to the roadmap, we are going to see GT206 coming out in the end of 2008. And a flagship GT212 will show up next year Also there will be another 9800GTX+ reflash in 08Q4.
GT206 is a 55nm chip and GT212 is a 45nm(or 40nm?) chip. Since the roadmap is directly coming from ELSA China, so i think it is totally believable.
