Nvidia to launch 130.000 GTX+ cards

Geforce 9800 GTX+ is Nvidia's first 55nm chip codenamed G92b, and it is not much faster than the 65nm G92. The announcement and availability of Geforce 9800 GTX+ will definitely drop the prices of the non-plus card, and it looks that graphic hardware will get quite good prices.

Geforce 9800 GTX+ is now listed for €150+ while the older Geforce 9800 GTX is still selling for the same price, but it will inevitably drop.

Geforce GTX 260 selling well

Geforce GTX 260 is selling quite well, especially after the price drop. This is something we learned from a few partners and shops that are selling these goods, but we also learned that Geforce GTX 280 doesn't sell that great. Currently, the cheapest GTX 260 sells for about €220.

With sub-€230 pricing, this quite large chip is a very good buy and it can go quite well head to head with Radeon 4870 card.

Nvidia GT200b at the end of August at Nvision?

This visual computing mega-event will be held in San Jose, California from August 25th-27th. According to NVIDIA the host and main sponsor of the event: "NVISION will gather together top visual computing professionals, world-class gamers, innovative artists and designers, and cutting-edge researchers to share their ideas, experiences, and passions."

Apparently NVIDIA was simply giving 55nm a test run with the newly released GeForce 9800 GTX+. Now they will implement the shrinkage to their GeForce GTX 280 and 260 GPUs. Expect the clock, shader, and possibly memory speeds to increase. Although the name is still being finalized it is safe to assume it will carry something like the GeForce GTX 280+ moniker.

Nvidia to Bring WHQL-Certified PhysX Drivers On Aug 5th

After demonstrating beta drivers featuring GPU-accelerated physics on 3DMark Vantage and Unreal Tournament III (GeForce GTX and 9800 boards), Nvidia is getting ready to release the official Windows driver.

This driver will support PhysX acceleration on all capable GeForce 8, 9 and GTX cards, while carrying Microsoft’s WHQL certificate. More importantly, the new ForceWare driver is expanding PhysX support to all currently available PhysX titles on the market, including Ghost Recon 2: Advanced Warfighter, Warmonger and Cell Factor: Revolution.
