Video: View - Length 4:53The Ping Pong demo illustrates some of the new graphical techniques made possible by the new features of Microsoft DirectX® 10.1 and the ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series of graphics processors. First shown on the AMD "Codename: Spider" platform, the demo shows off a new lighting technique known as real-time global illumination, together with a scalable physics simulation optimized for multi-core systems. It's also interactive - move around the room and see how many ping pong balls you can maneuver into the goals!

Prvni DX10.1 hra ukazala jeho silu v podpore programovatelneho AA na HD38xx.
Assassian's Creed od Ubisoftu, ktery jako prvni podporuje DX10.1, je na Windows Vista s SP1, Radeonech HD38xx a konkretne potom 3870X2 o 20-37% rychlejsi v AA. Vypada to, ze tak dlouho kritizovany vykon HD serie v AA bude s prichodem DX10.1 her pryc. HD4870 ma tento vykon jeste dal podstatne vylepsit, takze se mame na co tesit.

In addition to addressing reported glitches, the patch will remove support for DX10.1, since we need to rework its implementation. The performance gains seen by players who are currently playing Assassin’s Creed with a DX10.1 graphics card are in large part due to the fact that our implementation removes a render pass during post-effect which is costly.
But of course, the unlimited evilness of the ultimate tool of mischief, the universal explanation for sucky performance from anything other than nVidia, TWIMTBP, strikes again. The shenanigans know no bounds....luckily, in this sea of pain and anguish,the shining beacon of light and righteousness, ATi, stand, with their Get in the Game program that they managed so badly(because they`re not evil like nV, see, so they couldn`t actually have a program where they worked really close with devs, pushing their tech into their stuff) that no game is part of it. - Morgoth the Dark Enemy

Problem je spis v tomto:

Otazka je, jestli si mohli dovolit ten jeden pruchod odstranit diky DX10.1 optimalizaci nebo jeho odstraneni zmamena snizeni kvality vysledneho post-processu. Pokud by to byl druhy pripad, potom by tech ziskanych 20% vykonu bylo "necestne" a v budoucnu by to bylo podstatne mene, jestli vubec.
