A zbavovat se skladových GTS úpravou 96SPs->112SPs půjde asi dost těžko, protože nic takového není realizovatelné. Pokud se čistí skaldy, tak vždy vydáním pomalejšího produktu. Nikoli rychlejšího.

CJ did some nice analysis on the Nvidia's strategy here on why is there a new 8800 GTS SKU. He revealed that there is a shortage of GTX cores but plenty of GTS cores going around that didn't quite make it as a GTX. So if you launch a new product that is faster than a 8800GTS, no one will buy the more expensive GTS unless you up its stream processor count for higher performance.

UMC To Make G92 For Nvidia

According to DigiTimes, while TSMC remains Nvidia's major foundry partner, the graphics chip vendor has also placed orders with UMC for its G92 chip, as it steps up output ahead of the upcoming launch of its mid-range chip in November. UMC will be able to process 5000-6000 wafers on 65nm process technology and that's about 1M chips.

Nvidia is making a big deal about the fact that it can overclock the Shader processors and as of November there will be a part of Ntune that will support this feature.

You can already do this with Rivatune 2.05 and this is the direction that Nvidia wants to take with its current and next generation hardware.

Geforce 8800GT dissipates 110W

G92/D8P dissipates about 110W and this is what Nvidia is telling to its loyal and less loyal chaps.

In order to cool such a card you only need a single slot solution and it doesn’t look that this Nvidia’s 9 inch board will be a noisy one. The card has 512MB or 256MB of frame buffer and by default it will come as the DDR3 version and you won’t need more than a single 2x3 connector to make it work.

It is better than HD 2950XT, as this card dissipates some 135W, but the slower PRO version dissipates 105 only.

Nvidia claims 75 percent of discrete

Nvidia stood up in front of its many partner in lovely Amsterdam and told them that the company has 75 percent of the discrete market and that it wants to grow even more.

It really looks good for Nvidia but the only way Nvidia can keep growing is if ATI fails with every chip they have in pocket and we’ve already seen ATI coming back with super aggressive prices of 2600 and 2400 cards that helped the company to gain some market back.

Lower end model of G92?

On 29 OCT, NVIDIA will launch the 8800GT (G92). The model scheduled is a 512M card with 256bits memory interface, it has 112 stream processors.

What we heard is that there seems to be plans to launch another lower end model of G92. It will come with 96 shader processors and 256M / 512M GDDR3. This model may or may not launch. It all depends on sales of the first 8800GT and AMD's RV670.

8800GT comes with HDMI dongle

Nvidia D8P/G92 or simply called Geforce 8800GT will come with HDMI dongle and Nvidia is following ATI RV630 / RV615 footsteps here.

It was upsetting how this little thing boosted ATI’s sales as many people have HDMI LCD and Plasma screens and they certainly want to connect their PCs on these big screens.

nejak tomu moc nerozumim. Chapu to spavne ze 8800Gt bude vykonove mezi 8600GTS a 8800GTS ? nekde pisi ze by mela nahradit 8800GTS 320MB. ta je 320bitova, ale 8800GT ma byt jen 256bit, ale s vetsi pameti 512MB., vyplati se koupit tuto kartu 8800GT 512Mb, ci 8800GTS 640 MB ? moc se neorientuji.

Jeste uvidime, jak presne se ta karta bude jmenovat. Z hlediska vykonu je to oznaceni nelogicke, z hlediska ceny ne. GT by nemelo mit ve vetsine pripadu problem prekonat GTS jak ji zname.

dobre vykonove ji prekona, cena bude mensi. Co se stane s 8800GTS 640mb ? jaka bude jeji cena ? predpokladal bych ze pujde dolu, ale asi to tak nebude, preci nebudou prodavat tyto karty za +- stejnou cenu ?
