Nvidia G92 is GeForce 8700 GTS

VR-Zone has learned more about the upcoming Nvidia G92 where the official marketing name is most likely to be GeForce 8700 GTS. As revealed earlier, G92 is 65nm based and has 256-bit memory bus width. The reference 8700 GTS card has 8-layer PCB and comes with 512MB GDDR3 1ns memories so the memory clock of G92 is estimated to be between 900Mhz to 1GHz. Core clock is unknown yet.

Evidentne ATi i NV planuji udelat to, co se mi vubec nelibi. Novy HighEnd, tedy nejaka 8950GX2(?) bude zrejme 2xG92 na jednom PCB a stejne tak i ATi planuji dual-chip kartu. Sice mi sou jasne duvody, ale mrzi me to radne. Osobne sem se tesil na plnohodnotnou jednochipovou G90 s oznacenim 9800GTX a vykonem kolem 1TF

Nvidia G92 Card is 9-inch Long

VR-Zone learned that G92 reference card is 9-inch long, same length as the GeForce 8800 GTS but it is single slot. The PCB version is P393. The 1ns DDR3 memories are arranged in 16Mx32x8PCS array. The card has outputs like HDTV, HDCP, DVI, but no display port yet. Expect some interesting PCB and cooler designs from the card makers at launch.

Nvidia G98 on 64-bit bus to counter RV620

VR-Zone got to know that G98 is positioned as a low end GPU and is meant to replace the current G86 (8400 GS) series. G98 supports PCIe 2.0, 64-bit memory bus and will have 256MB of 2.5ns GDDR2 memories. Memory clock is at 800MHz. Performance is expected to be in between G84 and G86 and is meant to compete against ATi RV620, which is 64-bit too.

Nvidia G92 is D8P, Priced $199-249

G92 is also known as "D8P" which stands for Desktop 8 Performance and the marketing name is GeForce 8700 GTS as revealed earlier. There will be 2 variants; 512MB and 256MB. The 512MB version costs US$249 while the 256MB version costs US$199. The G92 cards will be using either Qimonda or Hynix 1ns GDDR3 memories

Nvidia G98 Card To Price Cheaply At $59

Nvidia G98 is also codenamed D8M which stands for Desktop 8 Mainstream will come cheap at US$59. This G98 card will come even cheaper than the current GeForce 8400 GS with only 4 layer PCB. It is meant to put further pressure on ATi low end segment with the RV610 and the upcoming RV620.

G92 is the high end solution

There has been a lot of talk about G92 and many sites reported that this chip is a mainstream part. Our well informed sources have confirmed our previous allegation that G92 is a high end. It should be a faster clocked revised version of the G80 core at 65 nanometre and it should launch in mid November. The G98 is also the real codename and that is the 65 nanometre version of the G86 the 80 nanometre entry level chip. 65 nanometre will help Nvidia to make its production cheaper and the chips cooler. There will be one more G9x chips on 65 nanometre and we believe that G96 is the name. Time will tell.

Asi uz mu nekdo "poradil" a sam se zacina priklanet na moznost vyssiho mainstreamu ve forme G92.

G92 might be a high mainstream part

Our sources now believe that G92 is the 65 nanometre version that is set to replace 8600GTS and that it can easily be branded as the 8700 card. This card should be faster than GTS but slower than 8800 GTS cards and it should cost between 200 and $250 at launch.

If this is true this means that there won't be a Geforce 8800GTX / Ultra replacement in this year.
