Just bought a Samsung SH-S183A SATA DVD burner. And after installing it, my XP won't boot at all. I can see the XP boot screen, then my computer just reboots. Vista boots, but i actually get a blue screen once I try to read a CD from the drive.
The drive shows up in the SATA post screen, and it shows up in Vista. But as I said, I can't get XP to boot at all. I have installed the latest bios upgrade, and I have tried to change the SATA cables in case there was something wrong with my cable.
Any posibility the A7V600 does not support Optical SATA drives, or is there simply something wrong with my new drive?

t is very likely that your mainboard storage controller may not be able to communicate with the SATA optical. I think I would contact Via technical support and see what they have to say...
