AMD preps Radeon HD 2900 Pro and GT for fall
http://www.tcmagazine.com/comments.p...=15701&catid=2AMD seems to prepare not one but two new cards powered by more or less modified R600 cores, one being the already old Radeon HD 2900 Pro and one the 2900 GT.
The first, and more powerful card, the Radeon HD 2900 Pro is said to have 320 SPs (or should we say shader units?) working at a yet to be determined clock and it will be brought in September to take some fame and fortune from Nvidia's GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB. The 2900 Pro will have 512 MB of GDDR3 memory and will draw a pretty hefty 150W. Performance should be just under the 320 MB 8800 GTS, but the card will also have a lower price tag.
The second card should be the sweetest offer of the 2000 series as the GT will have 240 SPs (still no clocks) and 256 MB of memory. Although its power draw is also supposed to be close to the 150W mark, the upcoming GT will still be very appealing due to its price that should not go over $220. Production of the Radeon HD 2900 GT is set to start in September with mass availability planned for October. And all this, only if AMD won't miss any new deadlines.
No tech 150W v mainstreamu, to teda fakt nevim.
