It seems that NVIDIA is planning for a higher clocked GeForce 8800 Ultra and a cheaper GeForce 8400GS card.

Nemate nejake informace ohledne pripravovane 8900ky (nebo jak se ma jmenovat ta karta, kterou chce nvidia odpovedet na R600ku)? Zajima me samozrejme odhadovane datum uvedeni a features, jelikoz bych si nerad koupil 8800ku, a pak za mesic mlatil hlavou do zdi...

Podle mých informací je už 80nm verze G80 už hotová, ale nemám specifikace (tedy jesli jde pouze o shrink G80 pro levnější výrobu, nebo jestli má vyšší frekvence, nebo i nějaké změny v jádře). Předpokládám, že půjde o lehce přetaktovanou G80.

Pokud by ten shrink znamenal i snizeni teploty GPU, vyplatilo by se pockat. Tak ted uz nezbyva nez jen doufat, ze ATI vyda R600ku co nejdriv a veci se pohnou spravnym smerem...

taktovací potenciál by G80 v 80nm mala relatívne veľký, ale či je to naozaj za potreby pre nVidiu

GeForce 8800 Ultra To Counter R600 In May

During the NVIDIA's Ngagement meeting today, they have briefed their partners on the upcoming GeForce 8800 Ultra cards to coincide with ATi R600 in May. NVIDIA is pretty confident that GeForce 8800 Ultra can beat Radeon X2900 XTX. We have revealed before that R600 is just performing pretty close to 8800 GTX on a set of early drivers so we will see how much performance can ATi engineers tweak out of the R600 launch drivers

55nm NVIDIA GPUs In H2 2007

NVIDIA is very likely to be the first customer to introduce production on TSMC 55nm half node geometry. Given its long established ties with TSMC, NVIDIA started pilot runs on 55nm in early 2007 and samples should be available for customers in the second half of 2007. NVIDIA should introduce 55nm in volume production in the first quarter of 2008. AMD has also started pilot runs on 55nm. Chips fabricated on 55nm are to hit the market in early 2008.

8800Ultra specifications out:

Nvidias ultimate flagship will be more than you ever expected.
This $999 card comes with 3 graphic chips. There will be two overclocked 80nm G80 chips with 650mhz(1.7GHz shaderclock), each of them can use 1.5GB GDDR4 with the awesome clock of 3.2GHz. The third chip will be a small G84 chip with 256MB GDDR3 memory, which is used for game physics in Nvidias new SLI 2.0.

The card uses an exclusive an special cooling solution and works very quiet although the power consumption establishs a new record.

Release will be in late May to crush Atis new R600 chip.
