tak jsem jeste trochu hledal a vlezl jsem i na Abit forum a resili to tam taky. tady je vysledek:
KW7's are now out. They aren't MAXFID (no multiplier adjustment), but they're reported to be very stable.

otazkou je, jestli moznost menit nasobic nezpristupni treba nejakym novejsim biosem na zadost lidi, ale kdo vi

z Abit fora:
some people in taiwan have bought KW7. One of them said that he couldn't change the multiplier in softmenu. I hope it is not ture!!!!
Ok, got the board....

Nice package....Manuals....cables (By the way, had to use the cables with the motherboard or got drive corruption during XP Install). Back output coverplate.....Good to go. I got another stick of 512 MB HyperX Low latency to go with the one I have to do dual channel.....

Entered BIOS....Softmenu...Hmm...the FSB only goes from 133 to 199....Not 250 as stated (Bug! Fix it please!)....I can't change the multiplier or set the PCI ratios.....Hmm....Fix this too, please...

So I'm running my 2500 (unlocked...it was completely over clockable on my KV7...can't do it at the moment...the board locks when I try to set the FSB higher than 166) at 2500 Barton speeds.....The machine was a breeze to install and set up, once I figured out the cables on my seagate drives either went bad when I took it off the KV7 (Doubtful....These are also cables supplied with the seagate drives, not the KV7), or something about the cables the board didn't like....I think they learned some things from the KV7....It's phoenix award bios....kind of odd (especially in the DRAM area .... a LOT of things I have never seen before there) looking.....but stable as heck so far....temps are way down from the KV7 (And not just because of the normal clock....)....I can't tell you exactly what they are, as I can't remote log in for some reason...
Mine arrived too and I am dealing with similar frustrations and more. I started out using my Athlon Mobile 2400+ and it detected it with a fsb of 100 and multiplier of 6 - basically it didn't recognize it. Wouldn't let me change it beyond 133fsb and no multiplier or ratio changes available.

From there I swapped it out with my older Barton 2500+ that has run at 3200+ since day one at stock voltage. KW7 detected it properly as 2500+ but same situation where I can't really go any higher. FSB will adjust to 199 in bios, but doesn't actually run that high as the agp/pci ratios are still not adjustable, stay at stock levels overclocking the bus. So, currently I am running my Barton at stock levels.

Noticed like the other person that the manual states I can run the fsb up to 250 and/or change the multiplier - but that is a no-go right now. No matter what setting, the multiplier and ratio settings are greyed out and unadjustable.

This really sucks as the RAID benchmarks using my 36gb raptors are fantastic. General system runs very snappy too. Just pissed that I can't go back to 2.2ghz or higher as I could on NF7s.

Abit (or anyone else for this matter), please please change the bios to allow fsb, multiplier and ratio changes as advertised. I don't even mind that the agp/pci doesn't lock - just want them at the right ratio and 200 mhz fsb. This would be a really good board if it worked like this.

One last note, found that the non G version of this board does not have firewire. Gigabit lan is not the only difference.
Yea, I like mine too and will be keeping it. I was getting kind of bored with my NF2 boards and not ready to jump onto the 64 bit bandwagon yet. I have done fresh installs on this board twice now using different components. Found out one thing, it runs stable as can be with my ti4200 video card but is full of problems when using my Radeon 9600. The only way I can get it to run movies and games properly with the radeon is to uninstall the via agp driver, which really sucks the performance out of this card. Apparently this is a fairly well known problem with the via chipset motherboards though as I had no problems finding a lot of info on the matter. Fortunately, said radeon runs fine in my nf7s and A7n8x so that is where it will be staying.

Positive points are that the via raid is awesome and the system just feels snappy. So much so that the KW7 running at 1.8ghz feels just as fast as my nf7s/xp mobile/raptor setup that is running at 2.5ghz. And this is using raided Maxtors with slower access times. Once again, sure wish that I could turn this thing up to 11x200!

Another positive is that the onboard sound is really very good. The alc658 chip is the same as I have used on an AN7 but on this motherboard the sound is much cleaner. Really susprised me as I normally use an M-audio Revolution 7.1 for sound, but the kw7 onboard audio is really close when playing mp3's. This is when running through a Cambridge Audio Azur 640a integrated amp and some nice B&W speakers.

At this point my only real disappointment is the lack of bios options and that it doesn't appear there are going to be many people buying this motherboard. I am afraid that Abit might skip doing any bios updates due to lack of interest. I have called and written but gotten no response. Kind of ticks me off since I know this chipset can support these options, as proven by the Asus A7V880.

Wish I knew more about modifiying a bios!
Hey dog,

Wasn't trying to rub salt in the wound, just pointing-out another indicator (MaxFID) that the board wasn't engineered for multiplier/ratio adjustment. That's the "feature" they advertise for those functions.

I'm guessing the motherboard marries the frequency range to the processor, i.e. like VA-10, you get 133-165 for an FSB 133 processor. That's why your stuck in range.

Has anyone tried the CROM1 jumper to see if you can fool the board to the higher frequency on initial (cleared CMOS) and Bios setup? Just a thought....

Edit: Also, tried editing the 11 Bios to see if the "Displayed" multiplier and ratio had hidden adjustment. They don't, so it's not a normal Bios function that's simply hidden.

Edit2: Just wondering if they decided to do this because all current production Socket A desktop processors are LOCKED.
