No, vyzera to pekne... aspon na papieri. Kiez by to Inquireru (s tou predpovedou) tentokrat vyslo - konecne by tu bol daky poriadne zaujimavy kus HW od cias uvedenia R300. Len dufajme, ze to nebude ako s osmimi "plnymi" pipelines pri NV30/35 (teda 8x1 arrangement len pri z operaciach). Ale 200+ milionov tranzistorov... no, treba si pockat.![]()

Konecne Nvidia dosiahne to naco vzdy papierovo mala, aby bola pred ATi, to ze sa nechali predbehnut mohol byt len docasny stav, oni odkukaju od nich technologie, daju lepsiu cenu, daju dvojnasobok pipelines, len aby vyhrali docasne suboj. Inak znie to zaujimavo ze karticky high end budu mat 16pipelines, potom mainstream teda bezne dostupne budu mat 8pipelines, co bude uplne stacit![]()
Som si isty keby mali dnes fx5900 realnych 8pipelines(nie tych 4x2, to je slabota) tak by bol radeon 9800 dost odpisany![]()
No ja bych to spis videl tak, samozrejme pouze pokud se potvrdi, ze karta opravdu bude mit 16 pipelines, ze si to NVIDIA nechavala jako eso v rukavu a vysla s tim na svetlo az ted, kdy uz ATI nema cas na to, aby svoji kartu dodatecne upravilaPůvodně odeslal MK2

Taky bych videl vyhodu v tom, ze NVIDIA uz ma za sebou prechod na 32-bitovou presnost, sice bolestivy, ale ma uz ho za sebou, kdezto ATI to teprve cekaRozhodne se tesim na prvni benchmark

Inak som zvedavy ako vyriesia chladenie... Heat dissipation u NV30 sa odhaduje v rozmedzi 35W (prve odhady, imho nerealne) az 65-70W (odhady po skutocnom prichode GF FX5800 Ultra, imho uz trocha prehnane). Budme teda optimisti a zoberme +/- priemer, teda 50W. NV40 ma mat podla tejto najnovsej informacie o takmer 2/3 viac tranzistorov. Potom vidime, ze pri pouziti rovnakej vyrobnej technologie (0.13 mikronov u TSMC) sa NV40 (pri taktoch jadra cosi pod 500MHz) lahko dostava nad hranicu 80W. To uz prestava byt "sranda"... samozrejme, toto je len velmi hruby odhad zalozeny na neoverenych informaciach, no uz som videl aj o dost vyssie odhady. (Na Beyond3D sa objavili cisla nad 100W, a to od serioznych ludi, ktori maju dobre zdroje...)
A este k tym 16 pipelines... Uttar (clovek za, dnes uz "zosnulym" projektom "Not For Idiots" - http://www.notforidiots.com/) to predpokladal uz davnejsie, cely thread (mimochodom hodne technicky a tazko citatelny) sa nachadza tu: http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10163. Chce to velku davku trpezlivosti sa tym preluskat, ale je tam kopa zaujimavych informacii. V strucnosti ide o to, ze NV40 bude zrejme obsahovat 4 sofistikovane vertex procesory, ktore "mozu" byt zneuzite na vykonavanie prace prisluchajucej pixel procesorom. NV40 bude teda "v zakladnej forme" 6x2 dizajn, s moznostou "double-pumpingu" 12x1 v specifickych situaciach. A ak to bude mozne (napr. vertex procesory su idle), tak vertex procesory "zaskocia" za pixel procesory vo forme 2x2 alebo 4x1 "double-pumped".
