This MAJOR release of our fluid flow simulation software comprises a new interface, fluids library and many new calculation capabilities. This product release builds on our experience and success with Version 2.
FluidFlow3 expands its application into new areas of fluid flow and process simulation such as heat transfer, 2-phase flow and compressible flow.
New modular architecture enables users to purchase individual software modules, builing up a library of capability as needed. The new interface and reporting features provide a unique, intuitive feel for your design.
FluidFlow3 represents an additional 9 man-years of dedicated research and programming by a company with more that 20 years experience in fluid flow software development.

FEATURES
Total Heat Balance. This means you need only specify fluid temperatures at boundary components, all other temperatures are calculated. Pressure changes, heat loss or gain from the surroundings and heat exchange made via the new heat exchange components may be included into the heat balance.
Any number of fluids within the same network. The fluid is specified at each input boundary and the software takes care of composition changes. This means you can analyse networks containing as many fluids as you need.
Over 40 new Component Types. Examples of new fluid equpiment items are accumulators, reciprocating pumps and compressors, rotating positive displacement pumps, cyclones, shell and tube exchangers, plate exchangers, cooling towers, jacketed vessels, bursting discs, 3-way valves, knock-out pots etc.
Calculation capability expanded via plug-ins. Examples are auto-equipment selection, auto-equipment sizing , two-phase gas liquid calculations, two-phase solid liquid calculations, non-Newtonian flow calculations, extended and real time analysis etc.
User interface and flowsheet improvements. You can now open as many flowsheets as desired, cut copy and paste between them. The flowsheet can be constructed with iso or ortho snap and can show free text, calculated or input values. The versatility of the flowsheet means that one picture can now become all you need to communication design and performance data between colleagues. Additionally the flowsheet, result tables and graphs can be exported to Excel or Word.
Latest Calculation Techniques. Gas calculations make no simplifying assumptions of ideality, adiabatic or isothermal processes etc. Pressure losses are determined by solving the momentum and physical property equations simultaneously. This means more accurate results, particularly at higher Mach numbers. There are many new methods available for physical property prediction using the very latest techniques and EOS models.
Databases have been significantly expanded V3 comes with over 700 fluids fully defined for accurate calculations in the liquid, vapor and 2-phase regions. Many hundreds of pumps, control valves, manual valves, sprinklers, relief valve, pipe data etc. from a wide variety of manufacturers.
