ATI roadmaps leaked

Chile Hardware have managed to get hold of an ATI PowerPoint presentation dated October 5th, revealing (amongst other things) parts of ATI's chipset, high-end and CrossFire roadmaps for 2007 and beyond.

Probably the most interesting new information revealed in these slides is ATI's plans to support four-GPU CrossFire configurations (a la Quad SLI, one would assume) by the third quarter of 2007, by way of a chipset for AMD's 4x4 quad-core, dual CPU platform codenamed RD790. Mention is also made of support for the next-generation PCI Express bus and HyperTransport 3.0 with this particular chipset, with 2008 seeing the expected release of a chipset featuring an on-board DirectX 10 graphics core as well as a next-generation south bridge (SB700).
