Conclusion
The Omega drivers exceeded my expectations in quality by scoring higher in both games and benchmarks while maintaining a robust if not higher IQ. DNA drivers took last place, with a loss of IQ over even the ATI Drivers and were severely plagued with install and stability issues. The original ATI drivers took 2nd place, while maintaining excellent stability and IQ. At the same time the ATI drivers were able to best DNA and Omega’s in some benchmarks. I really only see two clear choices -- the Official ATI 3.10’s or the Omega drivers.
Final Thoughts
I’d like to personally warn against the use of the DNA drivers. If a driver is unstable it can wreck havoc on your computer and the operating system, possibly harming both, not to mention being frequently plagued with issues and crashes. The DNA drivers just don’t cut it. Even though the DNA had a huge advantage using only a 16bit Z buffer, they still lost out to Omega’s using a 16,24,w/8bit stencil. Based on the performance and stability I would recommend the Omega driver to anyone.
