Tak nam vysel SP3 ve verzi RC2 (build 3311) pro verejnost dostupny pres WinUpdate, staci jen mala uprava registru ala Vista SP1.

Problem mohou mit ti, kteri maji nainstalovanou predchozi verzi SP3, tu je treba nejdriv odinstalovat.

Mame venku dalsi build SP3 RC2 Refresh (5508), vypada to na posledni release pred finalem, jelikoz uz ani ted se moc zmen neudalo.

The Windows Serviceability team is pleased to make available Windows XP Service Pack 3, Release Candidate 2 Refresh (XP SP3 RC2 Refresh).

The purpose of RC2 Refresh is to validate improvements to the Windows Update experience with Service Pack 3. Therefore, this beta release will be available only on Windows Update, in English, German and Japanese. Beyond fixes for common Windows Update issues and the inclusion of support for HD Audio, there are no substantial differences between this beta release (build 5508) and XP SP3 RC2 (build 3311).
XP SP3 RC2 Refresh includes all previously released updates for the operating system, similar to earlier service packs. It also includes previously released updates to the latest versions of some system components, as well as functionality that make it easier for enterprises to co-manage both Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista PCs within same corporate environment.

While this update is available for anyone, remember that it is pre-release software, is time-limited, and is intended for IT professionals, developers, and other technically-inclined individuals that are comfortable using pre-release software.
The application to enable download of XP SP3 RC2 Refresh is the same application as was used to distribute XP SP3 RC2. This is an application that can be found at theMicrosoft Download Center. Running this application on a machine with Windows XP Service Pack 2 will enable Windows Update to offer XP SP3 RC2 Refresh to that machine. Build to build upgrades are not supported for this beta release, so if you have installed XP SP3 RC1 or XP SP3 RC2, please uninstall it before running this application. We strongly recommend that only this application be used to obtain RC2 Refresh and that evaluation and feedback be based solely on releases provided directly by Microsoft.
As with RC1 and RC2, we encourage feedback on XP SP3 RC2 Refresh via this TechNet forum. Information regarding XP SP3 overall can be found on the Windows XP TechCenter.

With Service Pack 3 for Windows XP just over the horizon, we've managed to get our hands on the internal schedule for the release of the highly anticipated update to the aging operating system. As you can see in the list below, most of the stages will occur before the end of the month, though forced automatic updates won't land until June. This delay should give system administrators an ample amount of time to prepare for the upgrade or simply come up with an excuse for when things go awry.

• April 14, 2008: Support is available for the release version of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP
• April 21, 2008: Original Equipment Manufacturers, Volume License, Connect, and MSDN and TechNet subscribers
• April 29, 2008: Microsoft Update, Windows Update, Download Center
• June 10, 2008: Automatic Updates

Vztahuje se to na všechny jazykový verze?

Skoro jiste bych rek, ze ne, urcite bude anglicka, pak mozna nemecka a japonska jako u RC. Ceska bude urcite o dost pozdeji, viz cokoli, naposled treba Vista SP1.

Preferuji prave anglickou verzi a z Vist fakt rostu, uz 2 mesice cekam prave na XP SP3, abych moh nahodit cistou instalaci.

Today we are happy to announce that Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) has released to manufacturing (RTM). Windows XP SP3 bits are now working their way through our manufacturing channels to be available to OEM and Enterprise customers.

We are also in the final stages of preparing for release to the web (i.e. you!) on April 29th, via Windows Update and the Microsoft Download Center. Online documentation for Windows XP SP3, such as Microsoft Knowledge Base articles and the Microsoft TechNet Windows XP TechCenter, will be updated then. For customers who use Windows XP at home, Windows XP SP3 Automatic Update distribution for users at home will begin in early summer.

Thanks to everyone here who installed the public betas – you not only gave us detailed feedback but also helped each other out with timely troubleshooting. Through the beta program we found several important issues and were able to confirm some essential fixes. We couldn’t have done this without you.

We will still be monitoring this forum during the next few weeks in case you have more feedback about the release of Windows XP SP3.

Myslim, ze v SP3 by mel byt zahrnuty uz i novy Remote Desktop ala Vista. Hlavni vyhodou je, ze umoznuje vzdalene spoustet i programy aniz by se musel dotycny hlasit na vzdalenou plochu. Prave to testuji v praci...takovy okopirovany Citrix

Jinak po instalaci anglickeho SP3 jsem se setkal s problemem (BSOD i ve stavu nouze) s knihovnou GDI32.dll - pomohla az recovery console a rucni prekopirovani souboru ze "zalohy". Trochu me to u RC2 prekvapilo

Sosam CZ RTM verzi, vecer snad nahodim jak SP3 tak i pripadny info/postrehy/problemy....

Od včera mám nainstalované anglické SP3 a až na problémy s X-fi ovladači od Creative(na creative byl dostupný update, ale ani teď při přechodu do jiného módu si to není schopný pamatovat hlasitost) jsem nezaznamenal žádný problém. Připojení ke vzdálené ploše je opravdu nová verze ale ta už byla i u SP2c.

No není problém takhle nasadit do PC různý "bordel" Si vem jen co je falešných stránek co se tváří jako pravé!

Ale dost už strašení! SP3 úspěšně nainstalován a "zatím" vše v pořádku a v pohodě!!

Taky v pohodě. Jen mi nlite řval, že jsou na cd, který jsem aktualizoval na SP3, už nějaký aktualizace a že je to musí napřed smazat... No, odklikal jsem a v pohodě.
Jede to v klidu. Rozhodně příjemný nemuset se patlat se stahováním aktualizací.
