New design:
-new stand (height adjustable like previous UltraSharps)
-black bezel and silver metal stand (instead of glass) – opposite to 2707WFP
-touch-sensitive controls on bezel disappear when not in use
-control backlight is activated as you move your hand nearby

New on-screen menu and features (user guide):
-"amazing" new menu, easy to use
-three user-customisable buttons
-comprehensive array of video scaling based on usage mode (graphics/video)
-digital zoom function

Peripherary:
-card-reader
-two side USB ports, two at the rear
-component, composite, two DVI, VGA, DisplayPort, HDMI
-three 3.5 mm jacks for 5.1 HDMI pass-through
-PIP/PBP still only between analogue and digital

Technical
When the technical reviews come out we'll get to know more about what has changed on the hardware side of things.

Subjective criticisms from CNET review:

The 2709W is expected to be available online 20th of June, 2008 at Dell's usual unpredictable pricing. Not more than $1200 though, so bring on the deals!
