ASUS 0402P/D konverze na PIONEER DVR-106D
GOOD NEWS for ASUS 0402P/D users!

I have finally managed to convert this drive to PIONEER and upload the patched 1.07 firmware.

You will need the following:

1. ASUS_0402PD105.zip official 1.05 firmware from ASUS WWW site
2. DVR-106D_Failsafe.ZIP from flashmans FTP site (maybe it is not required)
3. DVR-106D_RECOVER_FW-1.05.zip from flashmans FTP site
4. Pioneer DVR-106 v1.07 RPC-1 + 2xDVD-R + 12xRip >NIL:'s patched 1.07 firmware from rpc1 site
5. a hex editor

I have made the following steps:

1. Unpack ASUS_0402PD105.zip, delete the R6123106.105 from it and replace it with R6100106.107 from DVR-106D v1.07 - RPC-1 + 2xDVD-R + 12xRip.zip (Rename R6100106.107 to R6123106.105 )

2. Use a hex editor and in the beginning of file replace the following in R6123106.105 (formerly R6100106.107 )

3. run the UPGDVD and it should start to flash the drive. At the end it will say something like "Cannot enter normal mode, do you want to reflash again" Chose NO. Now the drive should report that it is a Pioneer DVR-106 0000 00/00/00

4. This step is maybe un-necessary but this is how I did. Unpack DVR-106D_Failsafe.ZIP and run UPGDVD. To me it has exited immediately with some error that I dont remember anymore.

5. Unpack DVR-106D_RECOVER_FW-1.05.zip and run UPGDVD. This should do the job normally and should report a sucessfull flash and a GENERAL drive at the end. At this point you now have a PIONEER DVR-106D drive!

6. Unpack DVR-106D v1.07 - RPC-1 + 2xDVD-R + 12xRip.zip and run UPGDVD and enjoy the patched firmware!

TEAC and other OEM (MEDION) users should try to find a official upgrade for their drives and do the same steps. In that case they will also probaly succeed. I know that it is a lame and complicated process, but hey it works!
Probably it could be made much easier by patching the UPGDVD to not check the kernel mode. I think that this is the main problem with NIL:'s latest patch.

For the brave ones, good luck!

Bye

P.S. - Thanks to all who have helped!
