February 28th is the day where R600 card samples will be available to manufacturers and press while AMD continues working hard to launch R600 @ CeBIT. There are two versions; a 12" for OEMs and a 9" for the end users. No info as yet on their differences. According to INQ, AMD won’t let ATI release the new chip without being able to ship it in volumes so that lead to some delay.

Hmm? :)
btw.
R600 will have a big air cooler
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37014Citace:
WE LEARNED that upcoming R600 still uses an air cooler. It can do the job without the aid of water.
We know that DAAMIT has been experimenting with Air – water cooler hybrid. This is even more efficient and includes a small pump on the graphics card heatsink.
It is a nice concept but the stock version of R600 will come out with an air cooler.
The card is still on schedule for Q1, probably March launch time, Cebitish. The samples are ready and press kit should be ready in late February.
Of course it is a dual-slot cooler as you really need a lot of fan power to cool the beast. But it will be quiet, as quiet as G80's
Neplete se jim to uz chlapcum? Ja myslel, ze s air-water hybridnim chlazenim mela experimentovat nVidia...
ATI R600 is Radeon X2x00 series
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37040Citace:
We can now share with you that the engineering teams at AMD created four different PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) for the R600 GPU. These each target a different set of customers. The leaked drivers and some marketing documents already call for this generation to be called X2000 series, with devices labelled X2200 and X2400 appearing on the map.
So, the T-bone is full a 12 inches long (30cm). This baby is dubbed XTX, and will feature-top-of-the-line, 1GB GDDR-4 memory from Samsung. You can count on 16 memory chips yielding 1GB of video memory connected to the GPU via 512-bit external bus. Memory chips could do 2.4GHz clock (1.2GHz physical), yielding in yet unseen bandwidth of 153.6 GB/s, dwarfing 8800GTX and its 86.4 GB/s. However, this clock is not guaranteed - not everything is in the bandwidth, but rather in the way you use it.
Second variant is in the prime rib categoryL more compact its big T-bone brother, on a size level with R580 (X1950XTX) and G80GTS (8800GTS) boards. We're talking about "X2x00 XT", which is pretty much the same thing as XTX, featuring only a speed downgrade. The speed downgrade enabled DAAMIT to put a more compact PCB, nine inches in length but still featuring the same amount of GDDR-4 memory. Depending on the price and availability of GDDR-4, this one will be available in 512MB variant as well. You know, X1900XT 512/256MB, only one GPU generation ahead.
The third one, let's call it sirloin steak, is sort of X1800XL style ("X2x00XL"). We're talking about still GDDR-4 memory, but a new 9-inch PCB. Nope, this is not a downgraded PCB from the already-mentioned XT part, we're talking about a board which will feature "normal" clocks and be available for OEMs to do wonderous display output things with. Multimedia addicts will be happy with the whole array of possibilities, thanks to the fact that ATI killed its decade old ViVo chip. Single-slot ahoy.
Fourth class, mignon filet, is dubbed X2000GT, and this is a product which will feature most of the non-100% QA chips around. The PCB is once again new and does not derive from above mentioned three models - but still inside the 9 inches of length (three different 9-inch versions, guys really like the number). This baby was codenamed UFO, and had a very difficult birth: it was introduced, then shafted, then re-introduced into the pipe again – and this is the R600 chip combined with cheap and massively available GDDR-3 memory. This will be the ground for GPGPU boards as well, since AMD plans for both 1GB and 2GB versions of the boards. 2GB versions are of course, reserved for the high-end, professional market.
Jestli nastavi pouzitelnou cenu, tak uz jenom cekam na WB a kupuju 12ti palcovou mrchu. Tech 150GB/s me laka :)

Citace:
Claims are that the R600 is 5 to 10% faster in DX10 applications than the G80

More R600, RV610 & RV630 Rumors Surfaced
http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4571Citace:
The latest rumor out there revealed that R600 is 80nm process technology and is entering mass production soon . R600's Z no-AA performance is 2.5x, FP16 blending & filtering performance is 2.7x, FP32 blending & filtering performance is 3.9x, FP16 filtering performance is 8x of R580. R600 final clocks could be at 814MHz and has 64 unified shaders. [This could imply 32 ROPs]. According to the rumor, it seems that low end RV610 will be on 65nm process, Digital PWM, 8 layers PCB, 256MB/128MB 64bit DDR2. For the mainstream RV630, it will be on 65nm process, bi-directional PWM for GPU and uni-directional PWM for memories, support 2x256MB 128bit GDDR4.
Stejně jako 16 double-Z ROPs (a la RV530 a Xenos)Citace:

R600, R610, R630 Launch Schedule & Availability
http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4572Citace:
ATi has finally provided some updates to their eagerly awaiting partners regarding the schedule of their upcoming DX10 cards. R600 will be launched in CeBIT but cards availability in April and we heard that the official name could be Radeon X2900. As for low-end R610 and mid range R630, they will be launched in April but availability in May.
Vypada to dost divoce.
A co obrázek? :)
http://img4.picsplace.to/img4/29/r600na3.jpg
R600 makes Board Partners happy
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37387
aj mne vyčarila táto správa úsmev :D
podľa vyjadrení ATi nemajú základné* výpočtové jednotky R600 nič spoločné s predchodcami ...
*pod tým nech si každý predstaví čo chce :D
dnes mám moc dobrú náladu tak ešte ...
... koľko skalárnych jednotiek by mal Xenos keby som sa snažil ich čo najviac napočítať ?
- 240 "SPs"
a najlepšie budú marketingové vyjadrenia zo strany ATi :-D

Some Nvidia green is about to get smoked as we heard R600 with some software tweaks will actually be faster than we all anticipated.
http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4595Citace:
AMD remains secretive about their R600 but we still managed to dig out a little more information. We can expect to see R600, RV610 and RV630 demos @ CeBIT but no performance tests to be revealed there. The R600 launch is slated for end of March it appears now and there are 3 SKUs; XTX, XT and XL. ATi briefly mentioned to their partners a 2nd generation Unified Shader Structure and a new hardware Crossfire for R600 family which can be bridgeless yet faster. We are not sure how does this new HW CF work out yet. The retail card is half an inch longer at 9.5" and the OEM/SI version remains the same at 12". It comes with 512-bit memory bus and 1GB DDR4 at more than 2GHz frequency. Core clock remains a mystery as yet.
http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4596Citace:
We have gotten some concrete information on the RV610 and RV630. The card samples will start appear in March and the launch slated for April timeframe. There will be 3 variants of RV630 supporting DDR2, DDR3 or DDR4. For low-end RV610, it will be built on 65nm process and there are 2 variants; RV610LE supporting DDR2 and RV610PRO supporting DDR3. Memory clock for RV610LE stood at 400Mhz while RV610PRO is at 700MHz.
R600 Uber edition confirmed
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37543Citace:
WE CAN now divulge details of the third of the four R600 versions ATI is preparing for consumers. One is DDR3, one is DDR4 - the long one - and the third one is now known as the Uber edition.
R600 Uber edition will end up as the fastest R600-based card of the first batch on the shelves. The key secret is a water cooler. We heard that two companies are competing to make the cooler. One is Aavid , which we have already seen on many graphic cards and the second is Denmark-based Asetek.
We hear that the water cooler has both water pump and the reservoir on the radiator. So the card will look similar to the other cards, just with bigger radiator, powered with fan, and a reservoir.
