mam 3 disky
2xmaxtor - promise IDE raid -bezi na nich winxp(ntfs, fat32)
1xWD - linux...

....nejak sa mi nedari mountnut v linuxe(REDHAT 8) raid particie (ntfs ani fat32)

....ked mam linux rozbehany na RAIDe tak to bezi v pohode... ale ak mam linux na klasickom IDE radici a chcem pripojit raid disk s win filesystemami tak nic....

... nemam istotu ci sa da mountnut ntfs.... ale fat32 by hadam malo ist nie ???

ma to niekto takto rozbehane ???


takisto mam problem v bootloaderi LILO sprevackovat bootovanie winXP (na raid diskoch) ... :(

helfne mi niekto ?

A máš v jádře podporu RAIDu? Toho promise? Stáhni si na to driverz ze stránky výrobce - mělo by to fakat (případně by šlo použít nějekej generic modul jako ideraid nebo jaksetomenuje)

s RAIDom zkusenosti nemam, ale jinak NTFS mountovat jde.

taaaaaaaaaaaaak presla urcita doba :) .... a ja som sa vratil zase k pokusu mountnut ntfs particie rozbehane na promise raide....

pouzivam woodyho kernel 2.5.69 skompilovany s podporov raid....
kernel mi dokonca detekne disky na raide ...
ako /dev/hde a /dev/hdg

na /dev/hde su dokonca aj badatelne particie ale na /dev/hdg nie .... ???


nejako sa mi nedary to rozbehat ....

podarilo sa to uz niekomu ??? alebo videl to niekde uz niekde ???

nech sa zbitocne netrapim .... :wink:

zatial sa mi nepodarilo nic vygooglovat ...

nikde som totiz nenasiel jednoznacnu odpoved !!!
ide to/ nejde to ... nejavy sa mi to ako nejak zvlast specificky problem ...a pritom tak malo info :-(

Jadro podporuje tieto pseudo-RAID radice ako obycajne IDE radice. Ak tam mas spraveny RAID1, tak by to malo ist normalne citat, ak tam mas RAID0, tak mas asi smolu. Teoreticky by to mohlo fungovat s driverom od Promise (ak existuje). Napriklad Highpoint ma na stranke nejaky driver neznamej kvality.

Using Software RAID with NTFS
=============================

For support of volume and stripe sets, use the kernel's Software RAID / MD
driver and set up your /etc/raidtab appropriately (see man 5 raidtab).

Linear volume sets, i.e. linear raid, as well as stripe sets, i.e. raid level 0,
have been tested and work fine (though see section "Limitiations when using the
MD driver with NTFS volumes" especially if you want to use linear raid). Even
though untested, there is no reason why mirrors, i.e. raid level 1, and stripes
with parity, i.e. raid level 5, should not work, too.

You have to use the "persistent-superblock 0" option for each raid-disk in the
NTFS volume/stripe you are configuring in /etc/raidtab as the persistent
superblock used by the MD driver would damange the NTFS volume.

Windows by default uses a stripe chunk size of 64k, so you probably want the
"chunk-size 64k" option for each raid-disk, too.

For example, if you have a stripe set consisting of two partitions /dev/hda5
and /dev/hdb1 your /etc/raidtab would look like this:

raiddev /dev/md0
raid-level 0
nr-raid-disks 2
nr-spare-disks 0
persistent-superblock 0
chunk-size 64k
device /dev/hda5
raid-disk 0
device /dev/hdb1
raid-disl 1

For linear raid, just change the raid-level above to "raid-level linear", for
mirrors, change it to "raid-level 1", and for stripe sets with parity, change
it to "raid-level 5".
